In this episode, Project Sanity host Scott Andrew speaks with the two solutions-focussed No-waste Nomads behind The Rubbish Trip – Hannah Blumhardt and Liam Prince. Together, they discuss "the Gateway Drug to Sustainability".
The Rubbish Trip is a zero-waste roadshow offering free presentations and workshops to community groups, schools, businesses and households across New Zealand about how and why individuals can reduce their waste footprint. Their presentations are informative (they don’t pull any punches), but also hopeful, based on their own experience of living, since the beginning of 2015, without a bin.
Along the way, Hannah and Liam have met people doing their own amazing projects – whether waste-related, sustainability-focused, socially-minded, or creative. The Rubbish Trip is also about sharing these stories through their podcast and about the need for us all to give back, where we can, to the tireless work of others around New Zealand and the world.
At its core, The Rubbish Trip is motivated by the belief that the exchange of knowledge, energy, and solidarity is fundamental for transition to more sustainable, connected communities.
